Kirchdorf in Tyrol: Right at home in a natural paradise

Located on the edge of an extensive nature reserve, Kirchdorf is a typically Tyrolean village, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  Situated 640 m above sea level, the town has approximately 2600 inhabitants, many of them lovers of sports and outdoor activities. The town is surrounded by farmed alps, the Wilder Kaiser climbers’ paradise, well-groomed hiking paths, a memorial chapel and the original mountain pine distillery.

The wider area of the Kitzbühel Alps between Kitzbüheler Horn and Kaisergebirge is a dream-come-true for hikers, cyclists and all those who enjoy the great outdoors – in addition to excellent food and exciting cultural events!

During the winter months, the region offers first-rate winter sports options, but without crowded slopes. Snow guaranteed! 22 cable railways and lifts ensure speedy transport and short waits. Cross country skiers are happy to explore the well-groomed network of tracks, altogether 275 km!

The Koasalauf – Austria’s most popular cross country race – in February is one of the highlights on the very impressive calendar of winter-time events.
